On Sunday March 1st 2009, AEMovers Hong Kong got into the spirit of things by entering a team of six runners to take part in one of Hong Kong's wackiest race ….. "Beat The Banana". The race is held every year by The World Cancer Research Fund in order to raise money for this much needed and valuable cause.

More than 700 runners gathered at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre for the run along the Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade and back. There were 2 races: 5 kms for the serious runners and 3 kms for those on a fun day out. Winners of the 5 kms race won a trip to London to compete in the London leg of the race, while runners in the 3 kms race had a chance to Beat The Banana.

Although none of the AEMovers runners actually Beat The Banana (who finished in a time of 11 minutes), they all completed the race averaging a time of 27 minutes.

A total of over HK$ 500,000.00 was raised for the World Cancer Research Fund ...... a most rewarding day all round !!
